Jesper’s Story: From Closing Deals to Leading Growth

Since joining GlobalConnect in 2020, Jesper has played a key role in building strong new logo success across the Danish Enterprise market. From driving complex enterprise sales to leading the New Logo Enterprise DK team, his journey has been shaped by curiosity, ownership, and a strong focus on continuous development and long-term growth.

What is your GC story? 

Jesper joined GlobalConnect in May 2020 as a Key Account Manager within the Enterprise segment, working with both retention of existing customers and new logo acquisition. At that time, GlobalConnects portfolio primarily consisted of WAN, Datacenter and UC services – prior to Network-as-a-Service becoming a core strategic focus. 

As the Enterprise sales organization later evolved and was split into New Logo (hunters) and Portfolio (farmers), Jesper naturally transitioned into the New Logo team. With a strong profile in new customer acquisition and complex solution sales, the role became a clear match: focusing on winning and developing relationships with customers who either had no or very limited existing business with GlobalConnect. 

Since then, Jesper has been part of building strong new logo success across the Danish Enterprise market, contributing to partnerships with customers such as Lagkagehuset, Novo Nordisk, JYSK, Salling Group, Royal Unibrew, DAO 365 and several others. 

In July 2024, Jesper was given the opportunity to take on responsibility for the New Logo Enterprise DK team – a transition from being an individual top performer to leading and supporting a team of senior sales professionals. A role that combines commercial ambition with people leadership and responsibility for long-term growth. 

How have you worked on developing yourself within GC? 

Throughout his journey, Jesper has actively taken ownership of his own development. Curiosity and continuous improvement have been guiding principles – both professionally and personally. 

A key part of this has been seeking mentorship and learning from experienced leaders within GlobalConnect, combined with a willingness to take on responsibility beyond what was formally required. Jesper has consistently focused on simplifying and systemizing complex enterprise sales processes – turning experience, learnings and best practices into reusable tools, frameworks and materials that others can build upon. 

In parallel, Jesper has actively contributed to cross-organizational initiatives and taskforces, including early work around Network-as-a-Service, helping shape value propositions and go-to-market approaches that later benefited the wider Enterprise organization. 

GlobalConnect has also supported this development through formal education and leadership programs, which Jesper values highly and seeks to translate directly into everyday leadership and commercial execution. 

What has been your biggest challenge going into a new role? 

The biggest challenge has been the transition from being an individual expert and top performer to becoming a leader for others – particularly while still operating in a highly demanding commercial environment. 

Balancing a full personal sales target with the responsibility of supporting, developing and leading a team of experienced professionals has required a shift in mindset, priorities and time allocation. Creating value through others, while remaining available, clear and trustworthy as a leader, has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. 

Do you have any advice for others who want to grow within GC? 

Take ownership of your own development and be intentional about how you spend your time. Growth rarely happens by coincidence. 

Find the people who are excellent at what you aspire to become good at. Approach them with humility, curiosity, and a genuine willingness to learn and contribute. Ask what skills you need to develop, set clear goals, and build a concrete plan to get there. 

Be willing to take responsibility beyond what you are asked to do – and do things properly. How you do one thing is often how you do everything.
