What’s your GC story?
My GlobalConnect journey started in 2019, when I joined as a Delivery Technician working with B2B customer deliveries. Early on, in a fast-growing and highly technical environment, I was given the opportunity to move into the role of Technical Account Manager (Solution Engineer). In that role, I acted as the technical owner for key customers, supported the launch of our first SD-WAN customers, and served as the internal voice of the customer’s technical solution. Driven by a strong interest in efficiency, quality, and building best-in-class technical services, I later had the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities, first as a Team Leader, then as Manager for the very team I had grown within. Today, I lead our Nordic SD-WAN organization, Advanced Solutions. In many ways, it feels like coming full circle: I started by delivering and supporting the service, moved on to designing and scaling it, and now have the privilege of leading the same product and its delivery across the Nordics.
How have you worked to develop in GC?
I’ve always focused on staying curious and taking ownership of my own development. Today, it’s easy to expect career growth to happen quickly, but in my experience, real development comes from consistently investing in yourself and being willing to go the extra mile. I’ve approached my role at GlobalConnect as a personal development journey. I work hard in my day-to-day responsibilities, but I put even more effort into continuously improving my skills, broadening my perspective, and learning beyond what’s strictly required. If you’re going to spend eight hours a day at work, you might as well make it count. That mindset has helped me grow both professionally and personally, sharpen my capabilities over time, and consistently exceed expectations and goals.
What has been your biggest challenge going into a new role?
My biggest challenge when stepping into a new role has been transitioning from being a colleague to becoming a leader for people I previously worked alongside. Shifting that dynamic, from working together as peers to setting direction and making decisions, naturally requires trust, clarity, and open communication. That said, it has also been a very positive experience. Taking on new responsibilities, learning new aspects of the business, and building relationships in a new capacity has been both motivating and rewarding.
Any tips to others that want to develop?
As mentioned earlier, stay curious and be intentional with how you spend your eight hours each day — don’t see it as just a job. I understand that not every task is exciting, but I’m convinced there’s always something in every role that can be connected to personal or professional development. Another key tip is to keep a transparent and ongoing dialogue with your leaders about your goals. Ask for their support and work together to set clear, measurable objectives. Without clear goals, there’s not much to track progress against — or celebrate once you get there.
